Hey all,
I'm quite new here and still getting the hang of things. I've learned a lot in a short period of time, but I'm still rather confused about a few things. For starters: what's the difference between an LXMF address and an identity? I understand that the former is derived from the latter, but why are they two separate things?
It's not like a public key/private key thing is it?
The identity is a private key (you usually never see its raw data); the identity hash (what you might see as identity sometimes, for example in nomadnet) can be compared to a public key; and the lxmf address (or an address/destination for another service) is derived from the identity for a specific purpose (e.g. lxmf messaging), it is also comparable to a public key, but for a specific service.
